Back from holidays

January flew by in a jiffy with lots of  New Year and B’day cakes orders.

Unlike other birthdays, this year our Anniversary and my B’day went by without any baking. Yes! we were off to Goa. Aha! what a place.

Goa is a great place to be in for any seafood lover, especially at the beach shacks where you get to tantalize your taste buds with authentic goan food – prawns curry, lobsters, crabs, squids,…

To experience the true magic, one has to be by the sea on a full moon night – its heavenly! We sat for hours just gazing at the ocean. For me it was a very humbling experience. In fact spiritual! cold silky sand and dark sea washed in moon light, standing there gazing out the vastness of the ocean struck that how miniscule part of nature we are. Hey! I can go on for ever, but getting back to food – chicken cafreal was yummy, and  for those who are fond of spicy food pork vindaloo is a must try.

Goan prawn curry with rice were favorite with the kids. In fact back at home I tried and it was awesome. Parnika just loved it. Shopping was the last thing on our list, so just bought a few liquor bottles and cashew.

But since I have come back,  have been baking with vengeance – plum cakes, banana bread, muffins, b’day cakes, … 🙂

Kiwi and Pineapple cake

Valentine just went by. I wanted to bake a chocolate and kiwi cake but ended up baking oats ‘n’ cranberry cookies with walnuts ‘n’ chocolate chips (inspired by Deeba of passionate about baking, she is amazing) as it seems a healthier option. Very tasty, a must try.
